And by “write” I mean… create. For 2026.
I’m not thinking about resolutions but about… desire.
Let me set the scene for you, boring though it is. Daily life. No glamor, no hot take, no GRWM:
I’m listening to the radio on my phone this new year’s day. I’m thinking about putting a closed door on my old Moon Pluto Astrology blog, not a paywall, but password protected for a time, until I figure out what to do with it.
I’m thinking about those of us who value depth over fast fast fast apps that want you to scroll scroll scroll. I’m not anti any of those apps, but I feel like an alien from a different world, from the past. And I plan to dig in, to stay right here.
Astrology stuff: Saturn will sit firmly in Aries. Neptune too. Jupiter will go into Leo in the summer and the Nodes, too, will shift. Pluto continues to move ahead in Aquarius and… am I forgetting something? Probably. I want to reassure you that there’s no artificial intelligence writing this post. It’s all me, all human.
But the point of mentioning the astrology stuff is to alert you to… the changes of which there are many.
What would Freud say? Well, Freud didn’t use a typewriter even though he could have.
But back to desire. Surely there’s something that you want. Something that you hope for. Something. Do you feel okay to let the idea appear in your mind? Do you know what it is?
These are questions without answers for the first day of 2026.
Should I pull a card? I kinda wanna. Okay just one:
Six of Cups! I’m using the Rider deck. The card of the big flowers. The card of the big cups. The card of friendship, of giving, of receiving. A card of love. Some Tarot writers say it’s a card of the past or nostalgia and maybe it is and maybe it isn’t.
